A Prayer for Today
A short prayer to begin the day in the presence of Christ, drawn from today’s Gospel reflection.
Before the day gathers speed, place yourself in the presence of God. Let your breathing grow quiet. You do not need to solve anything in this moment. The Lord is near, and he welcomes your attention.
Jesus, you teach us to recognize the kingdom in small beginnings. Help me not to dismiss the quiet work of love: a patient response, an honest apology, a faithful prayer, or a simple act of service. Give me the courage to plant what is good, even when I cannot see the outcome. Shape my words and choices so that I bring peace rather than resentment, attention rather than indifference, and care rather than self-interest. Bless the people I meet today, especially those whose needs I might overlook. When progress seems hidden, keep me faithful and humble. May your grace work in my heart and through my ordinary duties, so that my life can become a place where others encounter your goodness. Amen.
